A preliminary assessment of geological CO2 storage in the Khorat Plateau, Thailand

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
The main carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in Thailand come from the energy sector. Gas-based power plants, including natural gas and biogas, are CO2 point sources, and are mostly located in the Khorat Plateau. Geological CO2 storage is an important element

Introduction on CO2 Geological Storage - Classification of Storage Options [PDF]

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2005
Following the capture and transport processes, CO2 is stored in geological formations. This paper reviews the various underground storage options: depleted oil and gas reservoirs, deep saline aquifers, deep seated coal beds, caverns and mines. Each option is detailed in a separated paper following this introduction.

Optimization of CO2 geological storage sites based on regional stability evaluation—A case study on geological storage in tianjin, china

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
Carbon dioxide geological storage is one of the important means to mitigate the greenhouse effect and curb global warming. The key to carbon dioxide (CO2) geological storage is to select a suitable storage site.

Impact of SO2 on Alteration of Reservoir Rock with Ca-Deficient Conditions and Poor Buffering Capacity under a CO2 Geologic Storage Condition

open access: yesGeofluids, 2018
The objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of SO2-CO2-water-rock interaction on the alteration of a reservoir rock having Ca-deficient conditions and little buffering capacity and its implication for porosity change near the injection well ...

Two Routes to Land: Genomic Underpinnings of Parallel Aerial Egg Deposition in Aquatic Old‐World Pila and New‐World Pomacea (Ampullariidae)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Influence of pore structure on grain bulk modulus of underground rock masses under hydro-mechanical conditions

open access: yesScientific Reports
We present an evaluation of the grain bulk modulus of rocks through experimental and theoretical methods. Unjacketed tests were performed on three rock types—Berea sandstone, Idaho sandstone, and Hwangdeung granite—to measure grain-scale compressibility.
