Detection and Modeling of Co‐Seismic Ionospheric Disturbances Induced by the 2024 Mw 6.6 Deep‐Focus Earthquake in Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract On 20 January 2024, a deep‐focus earthquake (Mw 6.6, depth 607 km) struck near Tarauacá, Brazil, within the subducted South America Nazca Plate. Although it produced no surface damage, the event generated clear co‐seismic ionospheric disturbances (CSIDs) detectable in GNSS‐based Total Electron Content (TEC) data from the Brazilian RBMC network.

Towards Space Solar Power - Examining Atmospheric Interactions of Power Beams with the HAARP Facility

open access: yes, 2014
In the most common space solar power (SSP) system architectures, solar energy harvested by large satellites in geostationary orbit is transmitted to Earth via microwave radiation.

Comparison of ICON/MIGHTI and TIMED/SABER Neutral Temperature Measurements at Conjunctions in the Lower Thermosphere

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract This study presents a cross‐comparison of mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) neutral temperatures between 88 and 110 km measured by ICON/Michelson Interferometer for Global High‐resolution Thermospheric Imaging (MIGHTI) and Thermosphere Ionosphere Mesosphere Energetics and Dynamics/Sounding of the Atmosphere using Broadband Emission ...

Magma and Volatile Pathways Beneath Sakurajima Volcano From Self‐Potential, Helium Isotopes, and Broadband Magnetotellurics

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
Abstract At frequently erupting volcanoes, magma and volatiles ascend through established pathways, but the complete picture of their branching and supply system remains unclear. We integrated self‐potential (SP), broadband magnetotelluric (MT), and helium isotope observations to image magma and volatile pathways beneath Sakurajima Volcano.

Geomagnetic variation anomalies in northern England: processing and presentation of data from a non-simultaneous array [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The block and basin structure of northern England has been investigated by an array of 35 magnetometer stations over a grid with a spacing of 10km. Recordings at these sites were made simultaneously with those at a reference site.
