The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Random geometric graphs [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2002
We analyse graphs in which each vertex is assigned random coordinates in a geometric space of arbitrary dimensionality and only edges between adjacent points are present. The critical connectivity is found numerically by examining the size of the largest cluster. We derive an analytical expression for the cluster coefficient which shows that the graphs

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Reciprocal fraction function tools used for \-rung Quadripartitioned neutrosophic sets [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
This paper presents a new method for creating a \-rung reciprocal fraction function. We introduce quadripartitioned neutrosophic sets (QNSS). The reciprocal fraction function applied to quadripartitioned neutrosophic sets are the neutrosophic sets and ...

Analysis of immersed geological formations for Bekhmeh dam reservoir/ Erbil

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2022
Geological formations areas measurements for immersion level have been got for the Bekhmeh dam reservoir depending on the digital elevation model (DEM) with resolution (10 m) and Global Mapper-GIS software, which deal with the spatial analysis and get ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Properties of quadripartitioned neutrosophic interval-valued set to the reciprocal fraction function via various operators [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
A novel technique used to generate quadripartitioned neutrosophic interval-valued sets applied to the reciprocal fraction function is presented in this paper.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Observations and Recommendations for Coordinated Calibration Activities of Government and Commercial Optical Satellite Systems

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
One of the biggest changes in the world of optical remote sensing over the last several years is the sheer increase in the number of sensors that are imaging the Earth in moderate to high spatial resolution.
