On the Geometrical Accuracy in Incremental Sheet Forming

2021
The industrial application of incremental sheet forming (ISF) still stays behind the expectations due to the low geometrical accuracy of the produced parts as well as the insufficient predictability of the forming result. This is due to the fact that some mechanisms which cause the geometrical deviations are not fully understood.

Geometric accuracy in airborne SAR images

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1989
Uncorrected across-track motions of a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) platform can cause both a severe loss of azimuthal positioning accuracy in, and defocusing of, the resultant SAR image. It is shown how the results of an autofocus procedure can be incorporated in the azimuth processing to produce a fully focused image that is geometrically accurate ...

Geometric accuracy and semantic richness in heritage BIM: A review

Digital Applications in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, 2020
Abstract This paper reviews the existing heritage building modelling approaches, both parametric and reality-based, with the focus being upon geometric accuracy and semantic richness of the generated models. Our review identifies that there is currently no approach that offers both and that there is always a trade-off between visual fidelity and ...

Geometric accuracy of reconstructed PET images

1998 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record. 1998 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference (Cat. No.98CH36255), 2002
The registration of multimodality brain studies (PET & MRI) requires geometrically identical properties of the acquired images. In particular, if pixel by pixel manipulations are performed, e.g., for partial volume corrections of PET images, geometrical discrepancies in the images of one modality lead to erroneous results.

Statistical Approach to Assessments of Geometrical Accuracy

CIRP Annals, 2002
Abstract Statistical properties of the minimax assessments of the geometric accuracy are investigated. The cases when a distribution of the point deviations differs from the normal distribution are especially considered. Among such cases, the roundness deviations of the profile, which is composed of few harmonics, is of fundamental importance.

Geometric Accuracy Analysis for Discrete Surface Approximation

2006
In geometric modeling and processing, computer graphics and computer vision, smooth surfaces are approximated by discrete triangular meshes reconstructed from sample points on the surface. A fundamental problem is to design rigorous algorithms to guarantee the geometric approximation accuracy by controlling the sampling density.

The accuracy of geometric channel modeling methods

Fourth International Conference on Information, Communications and Signal Processing, 2003 and the Fourth Pacific Rim Conference on Multimedia. Proceedings of the 2003 Joint, 2004
This paper addresses the subject which is too often overlooked in the analysis of a geometric model for wireless channel - the axioms corresponding to a priori properties of the channel that is modeled using geometric approach must represent realistic wave propagation.

Geometric accuracy of CNC machine tools

Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Mechatronics - Mechatronika 2014, 2014
The present article is dedicated to the identification and interpretation of geometric errors of CNC machine tools. Identification of geometric errors plays a large role in the construction of the so-called “Error maps”. These maps can be used to describe the behaviour of the machine in the workspace without load or under conditions of finishing ...

Geometric Accuracy of Machine Tools

2018
Geometric accuracy belongs to one of the main parameters of the machine tool. It serves not only for the purpose of machine delivery to the customer or for demonstration of proper service intervention but also for assessment of improvements compared to the current state. The information on geometric accuracy of the machine is also used as a feedback to

Evaluation of the geometric accuracy of Ikonos imagery

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
NIMA has initiated a program to evaluate high resolution commercial sensors developed by Space Imaging, Digital Globe, Orbimage and others. This paper presents the results of accuracy evaluations of Ikonos orthophotos, stereo pairs and triangulation block adjustments.
