The Beta Exponential-Geometric Distribution

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2012
A new four-parameter distribution with decreasing, increasing, and upside-down bathtub failure rate called the beta exponential-geometric distribution is proposed. The new distribution, generated from the logit of a beta random variable, extends the exponential-geometric distribution of Adamidis and Loukas (1998) and some other distributions.

Cumulative distribution function of a geometric Poisson distribution

Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation, 2008
The geometric Poisson distribution (also called Polya–Aeppli) is a particular case of the compound Poisson distribution. We propose to express the general term of this distribution through a recurrence formula leading to a linear algorithm for the computation of its cumulative distribution function.
