Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

The Weizsäcker-Williams distribution of linearly polarized gluons (and its fluctuations) at small x
The conventional and linearly polarized Weizsäcker-Williams gluon distributions at small x are defined from the two-point function of the gluon field in light-cone gauge.

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

Innovating Aircraft Repair Processes: The Role of Digitalization in Sustainability
This research explores how digitalization—by storing detailed non‐destructive testing data in structured DICONDE databases and creating a standard data model of the component—innovates aviation maintenance and repair processes. Coupled with a developed state‐based simulation model, it enables data‐driven, sustainable repair strategies that reduce waste,

Process‐Informed Analysis of As‐Built Metal Additive Surface Features
This article introduces a novel method for feature‐based surface texture characterisation directly incorporating manufacturing variables into the feature extraction workflow. This marks a major step towards identifying process‐specific surface properties and their influence on part function and hence a holistic understanding of process–structure ...

Large-time geometric properties of solutions of the evolution p-Laplacian equation
The Cauchy problem for the parabolic \(p\)-Laplacian equation is considered. The authors prove a nonlinear concavity estimate for the pressure away from the maximum point provided the initial data are nonnegative, continuous and compactly supported. This estimate implies (among other things) the convexity of the support for large time.
