Noncyclic geometric phase for neutrino oscillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We provide explicit formulae for the noncyclic geometric phases or Pancharatnam phases of neutrino oscillations. Since Pancharatnam phase is a generalization of the Berry phase, our results generalize the previous findings for Berry phase in a recent ...

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Geometric phase around exceptional points [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A wave function picks up, in addition to the dynamic phase, the geometric (Berry) phase when traversing adiabatically a closed cycle in parameter space.

Geometric phases and quantum computations [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters A, 2002
Calculation aspects of holonomic quantum computer (HQC) are considered. Wilczek--Zee potential defining the set of quantum calculations for HQC is explicitly evaluated. Principal possibility of realization of the logical gates for this case is discussed.

Interleukin‐6 as a Key Biomarker in Facioscapulohumeral Dystrophy: Evidence From Longitudinal Analyses

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy type 1 (FSHD1) is a progressive neuromuscular disorder with no approved treatments. Identifying reliable biomarkers is critical to monitor disease severity, activity, and progression. Interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) has been proposed as a candidate biomarker, but longitudinal validation is limited ...

Comment on `Detecting non-Abelian geometric phases with three-level $\Lambda$ systems'

open access: yes, 2013
In their recent paper, Yan-Xiong Du et al. [Phys. Rev. A 84, 034103 (2011)] claim to have found a non-Abelian adiabatic geometric phase associated with the energy eigenstates of a large-detuned $\Lambda$ three-level system. They further propose a test to

Generalised geometric phase

open access: yesPhysics Letters A
A generalised notion of geometric phase for pure states is proposed and its physical manifestations are shown. An appreciation of fact that the interference phenomenon also manifests in the average of an observable, allows us to define the argument of the matrix element of an observable as a generalised relative phase.

Higher Amyloid and Tau Burden Is Associated With Faster Decline on a Digital Cognitive Test

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective A 2‐min digital clock‐drawing test (DCTclock) captures more granular features of the clock‐drawing process than the pencil‐and‐paper clock‐drawing test, revealing more subtle deficits at the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD). A previous cross‐sectional study demonstrated that worse DCTclock performance was associated with

Quantitative two-dimensional strain mapping of small core–shell FePt@Fe3O4 nanoparticles

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
We report a facile one-pot chemical synthesis of colloidal FePt@Fe _3 O _4 core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) with an average diameter of 8.7 ± 0.4 nm and determine their compositional morphology, microstructure, two-dimensional strain, and magnetic ...
