Low‐Symmetry Weyl Semimetals: A Path to Ideal Topological States

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a theoretical framework for realizing ideal Weyl semimetals, where Weyl nodes are well‐isolated at the Fermi level. The approach is exemplified in the low‐symmetry material Cu2SnSe3, which exhibits tunable topological phases, current‐induced orbital magnetization, and a strong circular photogalvanic effect, making it a promising ...

Modulating Oxide‐Based Quantum Materials by Ion Implantation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights how ion implantation, a well developed chip‐technology, enables targeted modulation of oxide‐based quantum materials. This includes tuning of metal‐insulator transitions, magnetism, and superconductivity through selective doping, defect creation, and induced lattice strain. Abstract Ion implantation has emerged as a powerful tool

Geometry, Topology and p-Adic Numbers in Geospatial Data Modelling, Management and Processing: Review and Future Approaches [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
Geometry and topology are both central concepts in geospatial data modelling and management. While geometry is the central concept for computational geometry applications, e.g.

Topology and Geometry for physicists [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of XIII Modave Summer School in Mathematical Physics — PoS(Modave2017), 2018
These lecture notes are based on a series of lectures given in 2017 at the XIII Modave Summer School in Mathematical Physics. These notes are therefore aimed at beginning PhD students in theoretical physics and cover topics in homotopy theory, homology and cohomology, as well as fibre bundles, with applications in condensed matter systems ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Topology and real algebraic geometry

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 1984
This article discusses the problem of topologically classifying real algebraic sets and describes the author's joint program with \textit{H. King} for the possible solution of this problem. The main topic of discussion are the 'resolution towers'. These are the topological models constructed to describe underlying topological types of real algebraic ...
