Direct Geometry Processing for Telefabrication

Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, 2012
This paper presents a new approach for telefabrication where a physical object is scanned in one location and fabricated in another location. This approach integrates three-dimensional (3D) scanning, geometric processing of scanned data, and additive manufacturing (AM) technologies.

Digital Differential Geometry Processing

Journal of Computer Science and Technology, 2006
The theory and methods of digital geometry processing has been a hot research area in computer graphics, as geometric models serves as the core data for 3D graphics applications. The purpose of this paper is to introduce some recent advances in digital geometry processing, particularly mesh fairing, surface parameterization and mesh editing, that ...

Geometry Processing Functions

2004
In Chapter 8, we discussed how to perform proximity analysis using a spatial index and associated spatial operators. In this Chapter, we describe geometry processing functions, which are also referred to as spatial functions (whenever there is no ambiguity), which complement this functionality.

Elements of geometry processing

SIGGRAPH Asia 2011 Courses, 2011
Geometry processing is a fast-growing area of research that designs efficient algorithms for the acquisition, reconstruction, analysis, manipulation, simulation and transmission of 3D models. This course covers different aspects of Geometry Processing, related with the reconstruction of high-level information from raw data. The first part of the course

DIFFUSION PROCESSES AND RIEMANNIAN GEOMETRY

Russian Mathematical Surveys, 1975
This paper studies the asymptotic behaviour as of the transition density of a diffusion process on a smooth manifold. The results are stated in the language of differential geometry. We look at applications of the asymptotic formulae to the local structure of diffusion processes and to spectral theory.

Conformal Geometry Processing

2013
This thesis introduces fundamental equations and numerical methods for manipulating surfaces in three dimensions via conformal transformations. Conformal transformations are valuable in applications because they naturally preserve the integrity of geometric data.

Dewetting processes in a cylindrical geometry

The European Physical Journal E, 2005
Dewetting of liquid films of water-glycerol solutions of different viscosities has been studied experimentally in PVC cylindrical tubes. In contrast with plane surfaces, the dewetting capillary number Ca(vd) increases with the film thickness ho over a large part of the experimental range and follows a same global trend independent of viscosity as a ...
