Geomorphic, Active Layer and Environmental Change Detection Using SAR Scene Coherence Images

2000
Interferometric scene coherence images derived from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data can reveal terrain morphology, stability, and highlight environmental changes. Regions of high phase correlation suggest terrain stability; regions of low phase coherence suggest physical changes have occurred at the scale of the radar wavelength.

How does co-registration affect geomorphic change estimates in multi-temporal surveys?

, 2020
High-Resolution Topography (HRT) data sets are becoming increasingly available, improving our ability and opportunities to monitor geomorphic changes through multi-temporal Digital Terrain Models (DTMs).

Geomorphic change detection in small Alpine basins using LiDAR DTMs [PDF]

open access: possible, 2013
Morphological change evaluation of earth surface through time is an important task in environmental monitoring and risk management. Methods devoted to the assessment of geomorphic changes can be used to identify geomorphologically unstable areas, to quantify processes intensity, and to compute sediment budgets.

Geomorphic change detection using LiDAR DTMs in two small basins of the Italian Alps.

2013
The description and quantification of landscape changes as modulated by geomorphic processes, at different spatial and temporal scales, constitute the core of modern geomorphic research. The high resolution and accuracy of currently available airborne digital terrain models (DTMs) allow the development of new methods for the quantitative monitoring of ...

Using photogrammetry for geomorphic change detection after the 2016 Kaikōura Earthquake using pre- and post- aerial photographs

2017
Following the 2016 Mw 7.8 Kaikōura Earthquake high resolution aerial photography of the affected area in the northeast of the South Island was captured. Showing fault rupture and landslide failure beyond the areas of limited post-earthquake LiDAR capture, this dataset was to be used for generating the landslide mapping digital dataset and analysing ...

Deep Learning–Based Vegetation Feature Detection for UAV-Derived Geomorphic Change Monitoring

This study presents a data-driven framework that integrates deep learning and UAV-based remote sensing for geomorphic change detection. A Mask R-CNN model is trained to identify specific plant species from high-resolution orthoimagery, treating vegetation as spatially persistent surface features.

Multitemporal change detection in the coastal zone : literature review

Beach volume change is a primary metric for quantifying coastal change due to physical and anthropogenic forces. Volumes provide key inputs for the creation and maintenance of regional sediment budgets that inform engineering decisions and ensure the ...
