Uncertainty is a very important concept in geomorphometry because it is a key component in quality assessments of any scientific study that utilizes topographic information. Uncertainty exists at all analysis steps of topographic data modeling and analysis including land surface data capture, model generation, preprocessing, and surface analysis and ...

Tropical Forest canopies mask extensive anthropogenic relief that optical sensors seldom resolve. We present GlyphTrack, an end-to-end workflow that integrates spaceborne LiDAR, terrain modelling, machine learning, and text-based triage to locate pre ...

Geomorphometry of the deep Gulf of Mexico
2022<p>The Gulf of Mexico is characterized by a high geodiversity that influences hydrodynamics patterns and drives biological and human uses of the seafloor. In 2017, the United States Bureau of Ocean Energy Management released a 1.4-billion-pixel bathymetric dataset of the deep northern Gulf of Mexico, with a pixel size of about 12m.

We explore the assumption that uplift drives erosion and hence, more dissected (eroded) terrains may indicate areas subject to more intense uplift than others, especially if other factors such as elevation and geology can be demonstrated as inconsistent ...

Geomorphometry 2025. The 8th conference of the international society for geomorphometry
This volume collects the Proceedings of Geomorphometry 2025, the 8th conference of the International Society for Geomorphometry (ISG)1. The conference continues a well-established series of geomorphometry meetings, started in 2009 (Zurich, CH), and followed by meetings in Redlands (2011, US), Nanjing (2013, CN), Poznań (2015, PL), Boulder (2018, US ...Massimiliano Alvioli +2 more
