Blasting effects of cross‐fault deep‐buried excavation on adjacent existing tunnel stability
Based on the theoretical analysis of cylindrical wave propagation in a deep rock mass in the fault with a filling layer, the calculation method of peak particle velocity caused by wave propagation in the existing tunnel is established. The viscoelastic characteristics of a rock mass are examined in the analysis.

In this study, the nonuniform distribution of the bearing pressure in front of the coal wall has been revealed based on in situ monitoring data and numerical simulation results. Therefore, an eccentric compression mechanical model of the coal wall was established to study the deformation and failure characteristics of a coal wall. The slenderness ratio

Geophysics and geotechnical engineering
A number of years ago, M. King Hubbert, then a geophysicist with the Shell Development Corporation, stated that a problem in geophysical modeling always arises in scaling a physical process. He tried to make a case with the example of finite strength of a person's muscle.
