Geopolymer cement and concrete: Properties

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020
Abstract Portland cement manufacture is highly energy intensive and emits CO2 and other greenhouse gases responsible for global warming. Production of Portland cement and consumption of concrete is continuously increasing. This will lead the mission of higher amount of CO2 gas. In order to protect environment alternatives are required.

Unconfined Compressive Strength of Geopolymer Cement

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
Red mud is produced by the production of alumina and its disposal is now a global problem. Every year large amounts of red mud are released from the bauxite calcination method and its use has become an urgent problem. The initial study investigates the possible reuse of red mud through geopolymerization and itsreaction with other solid waste, such as ...

Designing Precursors for Geopolymer Cements

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2008
This paper presents a discussion of the ability to design raw materials for use in geopolymers. To provide a “green” material to complement existing cement binders, as well as in the interests of waste beneficiation, various potential means of tailoring geopolymer precursor chemistry and particle behavior are outlined.

Overview of Geopolymer Cement

2013
The chemistry and molecular structure of geopolymers and their engineering behavior are reviewed, in part by comparison to hydrated Portland cement. The geopolymers form by reaction between a solid aluminosilicate and an aqueous alkali hydroxide solution.
