In 1911–13 N. I. Repnikov carried out large-scale archaeological research at the Zemlyanoye gorodische in Staraya Ladoga with three excavations. In two of them, wellpreserved remains of VIII – XVI-th cc. wooden buildings were opened, in the third – remains of the St. Clement church dated by 1153 AD.
