Accuracy analysis of MAMS data using direct georeferencing
2012 Second International Workshop on Earth Observation and Remote Sensing Applications, 2012The conventional airborne photogrammetry is difficult to implement in some areas, such as marine, deserts, grassland and high mountain regions where the installation of ground control point (GCP) is dangerous or impossible. With the availability of integrated GPS and inertial measurement units (IMU), which are also called POS, this situation is ...

Trustworthiness in crowd- sensed and sourced georeferenced data
2015 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communication Workshops (PerCom Workshops), 2015This paper focuses on the trustworthiness of data gathered from different sources, including crowdsensing and crowdsourcing, in pervasive systems. The specific focus is on mPASS (mobile Pervasive Accessibility Social Sensing), a system devoted to support mobile users with accessibility needs in a smart city context.

The Nature of Georeferenced Data
2009Georeferenced data or spatial data (we use the terms interchangeably here) come in many forms. Geometrically speaking, such data refer either to points, lines or areas – spatial objects or features. Spatial interaction data record flows between the nodes (intersection points) of a network.

Geographic information from georeferenced social media data
SIGSPATIAL Special, 2011In the last few years, we are witnessing an emerging class of communication and information platforms some call social awareness streams (SAS) [15]. Available from social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Flickr, and others, these hugely popular platforms allow participants to post streams of lightweight content items, from short ...

Generating synthetic meta-data for georeferenced video management
Proceedings of the 18th SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2010Recently various sensors, such as GPS and compass devices, can be cost-effectively manufactured and this allows their deployment in conjunction with mobile video cameras. Hence, recorded clips can automatically be annotated with geospatial information and the resulting georeferenced videos may be used in various Geographic Information System (GIS ...

A Fuzzy Location Problem Based Upon Georeferenced Data
2017Locating theory seeks to exploit geographic information in order to identify the best suited areas to place new facilities. This chapter tackles an optimization problem aimed at finding suitable locations for a new infrastructure in Spain by considering sustainability criteria and from a fuzzy perspective.

Direct georeferencing of ADS40 using calibrated POS data
2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011The ADS40 is airborne three-line-push broom imaging sensor integrated with POS, which developed by L. H. Corporation. Due to the accuracy of POS, especially the accuracy of orientation cannot meet the requirement for large scale mapping. This paper provides mathematical model for POS data calibration using a few GCPs.

Indirect Georeferencing of Terrestrial Laser Scanning Data using Control Lines
The Photogrammetric Record, 2013AbstractAn indirect method for the georeferencing of 3D point clouds obtained with terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) data using control lines is presented. This technique could be used for rapid data acquisition where resources do not permit the use of expensive navigation sensors or the placement of pre‐signalised targets.
