Evaporation and Cold Pools Beneath Trade Cumulus Clouds
Abstract The sources of air and water vapor in the tropical trade‐wind Atlantic subcloud boundary layer (SBL) are analyzed using in situ measurements of temperature, specific humidity, and stable water isotopologues (HDO and H218O) from shipboard observations in January‐February 2020.

Displaced geostationary orbits using hybrid low-thrust propulsion
In this paper, displaced geostationary orbits using hybrid low-thrust propulsion, a complementary combination of Solar Electric Propulsion (SEP) and solar sailing, are investigated to increase the capacity of the geostationary ring that is starting to ...

Abstract Using NASA's Global‐scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD)'s Dark Limb Mode (DLM) observations, we provide a multi‐year characterization of nighttime Equatorial Ionization Anomaly (EIA) morphology and variability. From geostationary orbit, GOLD measures OI 135.6 nm limb radiance at ∼33°E and ∼128°W longitudes, yielding routine, time ...

Trajectory of quasi-geostationary satellites [PDF]
publisherA procedure for calculating trajectory of quasi-geostationary satellites is demonstrated. Satellite orbit is calculated based on the Kepler's law.

Statistics of glinting clouds observed by DSCOVR and geostationary satellites
This study examines how frequently the specular reflection of sunlight—that is, sun glint—reveals the presence of ice crystals that maintain a steady horizontal orientation.

Thermal infrared shadow-hiding in GOES-R ABI imagery: snow and forest temperature observations from the SnowEx 2020 Grand Mesa field campaign [PDF]
The high temporal resolution of thermal infrared imagery from the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites R-series (GOES-R) presents an opportunity to observe mountain snow and forest temperatures over the full diurnal cycle.
