Assessment of spatiotemporal trends in groundwater depth and salinity through GIS‐based geostatistical analysis: The case of Aksu Irrigation System in Antalya, Türkiye

open access: yesRiver, EarlyView.
The study revealed that while groundwater depth trends were generally risk‐free, electrical conductivity showed localized risks in 38% of the Aksu Irrigation System. Overall, 25% of the area was classified as risky. The integrated GIS‐based approach provides a rapid, objective, and cost‐effective tool for precision water management. Abstract Continuous

Environmental drivers influencing the ambrosia beetle community: The primary role of geographic and climatic drivers in chestnut‐growing areas

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
Ethanol‐baited traps were placed in cultivated chestnut orchards (a) and mixed environments with assorted tree composition (b), over a 2‐year monitoring period in two valleys (NW Italy). A total of 118,286 ambrosia beetles was collected, representing six species.

Assessment of Spatial Variation of Soil Physical Quality in a Rapeseed (Brassica napus) Field in Bilavar, Kermanshah [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم آب و خاک, 2023
In precision agriculture, a productivity rating system is a significant tool to quantitatively assess soil quality. An experiment was conducted in Bilavar, Kermanshah to evaluate the spatial variability of physical indicators of soil quality of a ...

Discharge‐Targeted Hydraulic Tomography to Quantify and Locate Aquifer Discharge

open access: yesGroundwater, EarlyView.
Abstract Quantifying and localizing groundwater discharge is inherently difficult. It requires knowledge about hydraulic conductivity and the hydraulic gradient on the scale of interest. Conventional hydraulic testing, such as pumping tests, may fail in the presence of heterogeneity and complex structural boundaries.

Temporal Evolution of Contaminant Mass Discharge: Effect of Source Remediation at Contaminated Sites

open access: yesGroundwater Monitoring &Remediation, EarlyView.
Abstract Contaminant mass discharge (CMD) is a key metric for evaluating remediation performance at contaminated sites posing a risk to groundwater. This study assesses temporal CMD trends and associated uncertainties using a geostatistical approach at a chlorinated solvent contaminated site following source zone remediation, supported by two decades ...

Weed mapping using a machine vision system Mapeamento de plantas daninhas utilizando um sistema de visão artificial

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2012
Weed mapping is a useful tool for site-specific herbicide applications. The objectives of this study were (1) to determine the percentage of land area covered by weeds in no-till and conventionally tilled fields of common bean using digital image ...

Computationally Efficient Ranking of Sampling Locations by Redundancy in Groundwater Monitoring Networks

open access: yesGroundwater Monitoring &Remediation, EarlyView.
Abstract The long‐term and frequent sampling of groundwater monitoring networks is common practice for monitoring the concentrations of constituents of potential concern (CoPC) over space and time. Sampling can be a costly and time‐intensive process that also incurs health and safety risks. A redundancy‐based ranking of candidate sampling locations can

On Spatial Point Processes With Composition‐Valued Marks

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Methods for marked spatial point processes with scalar marks have seen extensive development in recent years. While the impressive progress in data collection and storage capacities has yielded an immense increase in spatial point process data with highly challenging non‐scalar marks, methods for their analysis are not equally well developed ...
