Climatology of geostrophic currents in the Northern Adriatic

open access: yesGeofizika, 2003

open access: yesGeofizika, 1986
The first results of the objective analysis of geostrophic currents in the Adriatic Sea are presented. Data collected during the “Andrija Mohorovičić” cruise in September and October 1974 are used for computing relative dynamic depths. These are then interpolated on a rectangular grid points, using a first-order polynomial for approximating the mean ...

Intensification of Geostrophic Currents in the Canada Basin, Arctic Ocean

open access: yesJournal of Climate, 2013
Abstract Continuous sampling of upper-ocean hydrographic data in the Canada Basin from various sources spanning from 2003 through 2011 provides an unprecedented opportunity to observe changes occurring in a major feature of the Arctic Ocean. In a 112-km-radius circle situated near the center of the traditional Beaufort Gyre, geopotential

Forty years of geostrophic currents in the Ligurian Sea

open access: yes, 2015
An analysis is made of the historical datasets covering almost 40 years (1976 - 2014) in the Ligurian Sea, in the North-Western Mediterranean. Two transects are studied: one at the boundary with the Tyrrhenian sea, in the Corsica Channel, the other between Nice on the French coast and Calvì on Corsica.

Study of the Brazil and Falkland currents using their images of Nimbus 5 and oceanographic data in 1972 - 1973 [PDF]

open access: yes
The Western Edge of the Sub-tropical Convergence of the South-western Atlantic Ocean, called the Front, which is a thermal discontinuity between the Brazil and Falkland Currents, was studied utilizing the Temperature Humidity Infrared Radiometer (THIR ...
