Cycled Fluid Injection Limits Maximum Earthquake Size by Controlling the Cadence of Seismic Moment Release

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 3, 16 February 2026.
Abstract Controlling fluid injection is widely considered a key to limiting the size of injection‐induced seismicity, yet whether and how it limits earthquake size remains debated. We perform injection‐reactivation experiments on critically stressed faults to test how different injection strategies shape slip and seismic moment release.

High‐Density Polyethylene/Graphene Polymer Nanocomposites Used as Geogrids

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 2550-2562, 10 February 2026.
High‐performance geogrids made from HDPE and graphene. ABSTRACT This study investigates the development of high‐density polyethylene (HDPE) nanocomposites reinforced with graphene (G), aiming to apply them in the production of geogrids for geotechnical use.

Scour hole behaviour: A field study of the Dutch Rhine Delta

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 2, February 2026.
Scour hole behaviour can be divided into dynamic and stable. Dynamic scour holes grow in area, depth and volume during seasonal discharge variations and are typically located in discharge‐dominated river reaches. Stable scour holes are found in tidal rivers with heterogeneous riverbeds and show nearly fixed dimensions.
