Geology and Geotechnical Engineering
Journal of the Geotechnical Engineering Division, 1979Geotechnical engineering is concerned with all aspects of the sites upon which civil engineering works are to be carried out. Geology is that branch of science concerned with the constituents of the earth's crust, their arrangement and structure, and the natural forces which tend to modify them. Study of the geology of engineering sites would therefore

Introduction to Engineering geology in geotechnical risk management
Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, 2009The Hong Kong Regional Group (HKRG) of the Geological Society of London is unique in that it is the only overseas ‘regional’ group of the Geological Society. It was formed in May 2001 to promote the profession and the role of geologists, in particular professional accreditation for geologists in Hong Kong. However the history of applied geology in Hong
