Exploitation of Geothermal Fields

1989
Exploitation is a critical matter, one relating to the quantity of heat available, its quality and for how long it can be obtained from a geothermal field. There are several relevant aspects: one concerns the purely physical processes involved, a second relates to the engineering work and a third covers the economic factors.

Development of otake geothermal field

Geothermics, 1970
Abstract Ordinary methods of physical explorations proved to be useful even in such a complicated volcanic zone. The hydrothermal mechanism of this geothermal field is very unique, because saturated high-pressure hot water is obtained not from a reservoir but through cracks.

Analysis of geothermal energy exploitation on Karlovac geothermal field

Nafta : exploration, production, processing, petrochemistry, 2010
Geothermal reservoir Rečica was discovered with two wells: Ka-2 and Ka-3. Based on the results of investigations from abovementioned wells, the reservoir temperature of 140 Celsius degrees was determined. Ka-3 would be production well and Ka-2 injection well.

Crustal Stress Heterogeneity in the Vicinity of a Geothermal Field: Coso Geothermal Field, CA

2011
Borehole induced structures seen in image logs from the Coso Geothermal Field, CA record variation in the azimuth of principal stress. Image logs of these structures from five boreholes were analyzed to quantify the stress heterogeneity for three geologically distinct locations: two boreholes within the Coso Geothermal Field (one in an actively ...

Geology of the Olkaria geothermal field

Geothermics, 1986
Abstract Up to now development of the resource in Olkaria geothermal field, Kenya, has been based on fragmental information that is inconclusive in most respects. Development has been concentrated in an area of 4 km2 at most, with well to well spacing of less than 300 m.

The Developing Field of Geothermal Energy

Revue de l'Institut Français du Pétrole, 1980
Geothermal energy is a rapidly growing source of power and heat in many countries of the world: production of electricity is generally confined to the most scismically active areas of the world; non electric uses are found throughout the earth. A cooperative program (CCMS) was organized in 1973 under the auspices of the Committee on the Challenges of ...

The Larderello geothermal field: a review

Earth-Science Reviews, 1991
Abstract This paper reviews published geological, geophysical, petrological and geochemical data, together with reservoir engineering parameters, of the Larderello geothermal reservoir of southern Tuscany, Italy. Some theories are proposed on the deep origin, evolution in time, and natural state of this geothermal field prior to its exploitation ...
