New geothermal gradient data map
A new, multicolor, geothermal gradient map of the continental United States has been produced as a joint publication of the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) and the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). The map, which replaces the 1980 version published by LANL, presents a compilation of more than 1,700 wells that have been measured for ...

Microscopic time‐dependent mechanical behavior of shale derived from nanoindentation
This study conducted grid nanoindentation creep tests to systematically analyze the microscopic creep behaviors of shale. Based on the analysis of creep strain rate sensitivity, the primary mechanism of microscopic creep in shale was found to be the extension and closure of microcracks.
