Comparative Mitogenome Analysis of Gerbils and the Mitogenome Phylogeny of Gerbillinae (Rodentia: Muridae)

Biochemical Genetics, 2022
To enrich the mitogenomic database of Gerbillinae (Rodentia: Muridae), mitogenomes of three gerbils from different genera, Meriones tamariscinus (16,393 bp), Brachiones przewalskii (16,357 bp), and Rhombomys opimus (16,352 bp), were elaborated and compared with those of other gerbils in the present study.

Spontaneous Neoplasms in Aging Gerbillinae. A Summary of Forty-four Neoplasms

Veterinary Pathology, 1974
Forty-four neoplasms were found at necropsy in 115 gerbils from a colony of wild-caught, and first- or second-generation laboratory-raised gerbils. Ten species of gerbils varying from 24 to 61 months of age were affected. The neoplasms occurred in 18 primary locations and included nine neoplasms previously unreported in gerbils.

A new sibling species of Taterillus (Muridae, Gerbillinae) from West Africa

Mammalian Biology, 2003
Modern systematics can now rely on powerful discriminating techniques, such as cytogenetics. As a result, a growing number of sibling species has been described in a variety of taxa. Among mammals, this is particularly true in rodents. Here, we describe a new species of Taterillus (Rodentia, Gerbillinae), namely Taterillus tranieri sp. n.

Behavioural Divergence in Allopatric and Sympatric Gerbil Species (Rodentia: Gerbillinae)

Ethology, 1993
AbstractSouthern African gerbils comprise 3 genera, each genus represented by morphologically‐ and ecologically‐similar species. All species are monomorphic, with social systems varying from asocial (Desmodillus auricularis) to colonial (Tatera species). This study compares the behaviour patterns of an allopatric species, T. afra, 2 sympatric species, T.

?? ???????????????????? ???????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???????????????? (Mammalia, Gerbillinae)

2023
The corona of the first and the second cheek teeth of young specimen in the Meriones, Rhombomys, Psammomys genera and the corona of the upper third cheek teeth in the Rhombomys genus are represented by nonfused laminas. Long axes of laminas and a tooth often form an acute angle and the points of the laminas confluence are displaced externally.

The complete mitochondrial genome of the Mongolian gerbil, Meriones unguiculatus (Rodentia: Muridae: Gerbillinae)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
The complete mitochondrial genome of the Mongolian gerbil, Meriones unguiculatus, was sequenced. The 16,360 bp long genome has 37 genes typical for rodent mitogenomes, including 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and 13 protein-coding genes. The total GC content of the mitochondrial genome is 36.96% with the base composition of 32.61% A, 23.71% C, 13.24% G ...
