Germanium, carbon‐germanium, and silicon‐germanium triangulenes

Journal of Computational Chemistry, 2015
A series of germanium‐containing triangular molecules have been studied by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The triangulene topology of the compounds provides for their high‐spin ground states and strong sign alternation of spin density and atomic charge distributions.

Germanium(II) and germanium(IV) compounds from elemental germanium

Organometallics, 1991
Divalent germanium derivatives (GeX 2 and RGeX) were generated by direct reaction between germanium powder and various mercury(II) halides. Difluorogermylene was isolated by means of sublimation, while other halogermylenes (GeX 2 and RGeX) were characterized by trapping cycloaddition or insertion ...

Germanium Films on Sapphire and Germanium Substrates

Physica Status Solidi (a), 1972
Germanium films deposited simultaneously on sapphire and single crystal germanium substrates appear to have the same electrical transport properties. These results are in contrast to the observed crystalline structure, which show coherent crystalline film growth on germanium crystals while films on sapphire are polycrystalline with random crystallite ...

Germanium and Germanium Compounds

1990
Abstract Germanium is a semiconducting metalloid element found in Group IV A. Germanium is used in the field of electronics, infrared optics, and in the fields of gamma ray spectroscopy, catalysis, and fiber optics. This article discusses the sources, manufacturing, and processing of germanium, and focuses on the chemical properties of ...
