Non-Hausdorff germinal groupoids for actions of countable groups [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We study conditions under which the germinal groupoid associated to a minimal equicontinuous action of a countable group on a Cantor set has non-Hausdorff topology. We develop a new criterion, which serves as an obstruction for the \'etale topology on the groupoid to be non-Hausdorff.

Germination Characteristics Is More Associated With Phylogeny-Related Traits of Species in a Salinized Grassland of Northeastern China

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2021
Knowing the determinants of seed germination helps us understand plant adaptive strategies to the environment and predict population and community regeneration under climate change.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six

Influence of phytohormones on seed germination of Solanum linnaeanum [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The aim of this study was to determine the germination ability and seedling growth of the apple of Sodom by soaking in water, gibberellin (GA3), naphthylacetic acid (NAA), and salicylic acid (SA), separately. The findings showed that NAA at 50 mgL-1 produced superior germination (77.78%), germination speed (1.43 seeds/time interval), hypocotyl length ...

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Promoting lentil germination and stem growth by plasma activated tap water, demineralized water and liquid fertilizer [PDF]

open access: yesRSC Adv., 2017,7, 31244-31251, 2017
Tap water, demineralized water and liquid fertilizer have been activated using an atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) to investigate their benefits for the germination rate and stem elongation rate of lentils from Puy-en-Velay (France). By plasma-activating tap water, we have obtained germination rates as high as 80% (instead of 30% with tap water).

A Novel 3D High‐Throughput Phenotypic Drug Screening Pipeline to Identify Drugs with Repurposing Potential for the Treatment of Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Ovarian cancer's high recurrence and therapy resistance demand new strategies. A high‐throughput drug screening pipeline using 3D spheroids, which showed poor concordance with 2D models, identified rapamycin as a promising candidate. In combination with cisplatin, rapamycin demonstrated significant in vitro and in vivo efficacy, highlighting the ...
