Effect of chlorella suspension on germination energy and germination capacity of malting barley

International Scientific Conference, 2021
The article describes the influence of the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris, grown in laboratory conditions on different nutrient media, on the growth and development of barley grains. According to the results of the study, the authors conclude that it is possible to use Chlorella vulgaris as a natural biostimulant to increase the germination and ...

Energy-Level Model for Isothermal Seed Germination

Journal of Experimental Botany, 1993
We have been successful in building an energy-level model that describes seed germination. We used the autocatalytic reaction rate equation to fit the germination rate for seed germination. The two parameters [A] 0 and [F] 0 were found by fitting the integrated germination rate equation to the data.

The Effect of Radiant Energy on Radish Seed Germination

Journal of Emerging Investigators, 2018
As mankind becomes increasingly dependent on technology, scientists are discovering through experimentation the influence of technology over the natural world. The following study was conducted in order to determine if exposure to microwave radiant energy influences the process of radish seed germination.

Germination and germination energy of wheat seeds aged under different storage conditions

2009
Natural, time-dependent process of ageing takes place during seed storage. Free radical generation/oxidation and non-enzymatic glycosylation within seeds occur, causing molecular damage, seed deterioration, loss of viability and finally seed death.

Activation Energy for Glucose-Induced Germination of Bacillus megaterium Spores

Journal of Bacteriology, 1970
The maximum germination rate of Bacillus megaterium QM B1551 spores in glucose increased, and the lag before its attainment decreased, with increasing germination temperature. The activation energy for germination (μ = approximately 20 kcal/mole), based on rate or on lag, was consistent with an enzymatic mechanism.

Changes in adenylate energy pool and energy charge of developing and germinated rice embryos

Plant Science Letters, 1981
Abstract A study of the energy state and the pattern of adenosine phosphates was conducted in the developing and germinating rice embryos. After 16 days of pollination, a peak value of adenylate energy pool was obtained which then showed a gradual decline and the energy charge (EC) varied between 0.7 and 0.8.

The Four-compartment Energy Level Diagram for Seed Germination

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1993
Abstract The four-compartment energy level diagram for the isothermal germination processes of turnip and lettuce seeds is analyzed. The fitting of a minimum chi-square to the autocatalytic reaction that describes isothermal seed germination yields two parameters that are interpreted as the initial concentrations of the first stage and last stage of ...
