Effects of Storage Humidity and Germination Temperature on Germination Percentage of Brassica Seeds

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Breeding, 1981
The present study was conducted to examine the effects of storage humidity and germination temperature on the dormancy and viability of Brassica seeds. Three species of Brassica, i. e., B. japonica. B. cernua and B. napus, were used. Imnlediately after harvest, seeds were stored in five air-tight vessels in each of which relative humidity (RH) of air ...

Differential Effects of Increasing Salinity on Germination and Seedling Growth of Native and Exotic Invasive Cordgrasses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Soil salinity is a key environmental factor influencing germination and seedling establishment in salt marshes. Global warming and sea level rise are changing estuarine salinity, and may modify the colonization ability of halophytes.

Germination Percentage and Germination Speed of European Larch (Larix decidua Mill.) Seed After Prolonged Storage [PDF]

open access: yesNorthern Journal of Applied Forestry, 2002
Abstract Thirty European larch seedlots stored in plastic, screw-capped containers at 4°C for 3 to 24 yr were tested for their viability. The average germination percentage was 26.7% per seedlot. Fifty percent of all germinating seeds germinated by the 20th day after sowing and 90% had germinated by the 26th day.
