Different Rates of Metabolism of Soybean Proteinase Inhibitors during Germination [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1982
During germination, the content of the major Bowman-Birk proteinase inhibitor (BB-E) in the cotyledons of soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merrill cv. Fiskeby V) seeds decreases, becoming a minor form by the sixth day of germination. One of the three other minor species (BB-D) of this inhibitor in the dry seed increases to become the major form in six-day ...

Comparative analysis of Bacillus weihenstephanensis KBAB4 spores obtained at different temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The impact of Bacillus weihenstephanensis KBAB4 sporulation temperature history was assessed on spore heat resistance, germination and outgrowth capacity at a temperature range from 7 to 30 °C. Sporulation rate and efficiency decreased at low temperature,

Does soaking time during disinfestation affect germination rates in Dendrobium?

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2020
Asymbiotic germination is considered an efficient and viable technique that can increase germination rates. The effect of type and concentration of disinfestants, and the exposure time to disinfestants may differ according to the plant species. Therefore, species-specific standardization of disinfestation agent and procedure is necessary to achieve ...

Mechanism of endocarp-imposed constraints of germination of Lannea microcarpa seeds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Lannea microcarpa, a multipurpose tree species from the dry African savanna, sheds seeds that often display inhibition of germination. The underlying mechanism was investigated using seeds processed from fully matured fruits collected from natural stands

Improving Siberian larch seed germination rates

open access: yesEducation and Research Archive, 1992
The flotation technique was used to segregate non-viable from viable Siberian larch (Larix Sibirica Ledeb.) seeds using water as the floating media. The non-viable seeds floated while the viable ones sank. Without stratification, the average percent germination of the floating and sunken seeds were 4.2% and 71.0% respectively.

SEED GERMINATION RATES OF DIFFERENT COOL SEASON LEGUMES

open access: yesAGROFOR, 2018
Temperature is the main factor affecting plant growth and development. Seedgermination and seedling establishment are the most critical stages in the life cycleof plants For the purposes of the study, the germination temperatures of six coolseasonlegumes (Vicia faba, Lens esculentus, Vicia sativa, Lupinus albus, Pisumsativum, and Lathyrus sativus ...

Exploration of essential oils as alternatives to conventional fungicides in lupin cultivation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Lupin (Lupinus L.) has the potential to become a true alternative for soybean as protein source, especially in the more temperate regions in the world. However, diseases such as anthracnose (Colletotrichum lupini), gray mold (Botrytis cinerea), and root ...

Region‐to‐Region Unidirectional Connection In Vitro Brain Model for Studying Directional Propagation of Neuropathologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A unidirectional cerebral organoid–organoid neural circuit is established using a microfluidic platform, enabling controlled directional propagation of electrical signals, neuroinflammatory cues, and neurodegenerative disease–related proteins between spatially separated organoids.

Atomic‐Scale Light Coupling Control in Ultrathin Photonic Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin photonic nanomembranes provide atomic‐scale control over the coupling between incident light and high‐Q photonic modes, enabling angstrom‐level resonance tuning and strong field confinement. When integrated with TMD monolayers, they further yield enhanced light–matter interactions, offering a versatile platform for advancing quantum photonics,
