STUDIES ON THE CELTIS AUSTRALIS L. SEEDS PREPARATION METHODS IN ORDER TO SPEED UP GERMINATION
Celtis australis L., is a tree up to 20 m tall. The range is Mediterranean to the Caucasus, in Romania it is found sporadically in Banat, Oltenia and Dobrogea, the species being used in green spaces where it is planted in alignment, isolated or in massifs, but also on the Black Sea Coast has adapted very well. The genus includes about 70 species, trees

This review summarizes the roles of key central nervous system cell types, the extracellular matrix, and the blood‐brain barrier in neuroinflammation, and their integration into diverse 3D culture systems. It examines major incorporation strategies, including direct co‐culture, hydrogel encapsulation, transwell migration assays, and bioprinting ...

Possible effects of climate change on the early development of pea, broad bean, maize and sunflower in Mediterranean areas. [PDF]
In Mediterranean-type climates crop yield depends strongly on the early development of individual plants. Extreme variations of soil temperature close to the surface of bare soils and fast changes of soil water content due to irregular rainfall and high ...

Conservation of lychee (Litchi chinensis) seeds [PDF]

Seed Scarification to Speed Germination of Ornamental Cycads (Zamia spp.)1
Abstract Rate and percent germination of Zamia integrifolia Ait. and Z. furfuracea L.f. can be significantly improved by seed scarification. Reported germination times of up to a year or more can be reduced to 1 to 3 months under greenhouse conditions if the outer fleshy seed coat is removed and the inner stony layer scarified.

Can Hydro-Priming Improve Germination Speed, Vigour and Emergence of Maize Landraces under Water Stress? [PDF]
We evaluated whether hydro-priming could improve vigour characteristics and seedling emergence of local maize (Zea mays L.) landraces compared to two commercial hybrids under water stress at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Pietermaritzburg. Seeds from local landraces were produced and characterized according to kernel colour, white (Land A) and purple

Dynamic Modulation of the Microenvironment Promotes Functional Maturation of Engineered Tissues
Engineered tissues lack the dynamic microenvironment of native tissues. A biocompatible, diffusible small molecule to dynamically modulate tissue microenvironments during maturation is used. Timing‐dependent modulation yields distinct outcomes, producing thicker, more native‐like blood vessels, stronger and more mature cardiac tissues, and optimized ...

Osteogenic‐angiogenic cross‐talk is a vital prerequisite for vascularized bone regeneration. In this study, we investigated the effects of siRNA‐mediated silencing of two inhibitory proteins, Chordin and WWP‐1, via CaP‐NP‐loaded gelatin microparticles in osteogenically differentiated microtissues.
