The Association Between Accelerated Biological Aging and the Physical, Psychological, and Cognitive Multimorbidity and Life Expectancy: Cohort Study

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Accelerated biological aging (KDM‐BA/PhenoAge) predicts higher multimorbidity risks and 5.3–7.0 life‐years lost in 332,012 UK adults. Those with accelerated aging face 12%–37% increased transition risks to severe health states. Integrating these metrics enables targeted interventions to reduce chronic disease burdens in aging populations.

Gut microbiota composition may influence trajectories of intrinsic capacity throughout life. Factors that positively or negatively impact gut microbiota (determining eubiosis or dysbiosis, respectively) can affect health, potentially acting through short‐chain fatty acids and their metabolic and anti‐inflammatory functions.

Even at 100+: Acute Exercise Modulates Inflammatory Pathways in Centenarians

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Targeted‐proteome analysis suggests that a single acute exercise session may attenuate inflammation at the end of the human lifespan. ABSTRACT Centenarians exhibit remarkable disease resilience despite chronic low‐grade inflammation. We investigated the inflammation‐related proteome response to acute exercise in seven centenarians (100–104 years ...
