Board Characteristics and Climate Commitment: A Comprehensive Analysis Unraveling Linear and Nonlinear Relationships

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 2, Page 2243-2265, February 2026.
ABSTRACT In an era of increasing environmental awareness, this study analyzes the relationship between board characteristics and corporate climate commitment across various industries. Our empirical analysis examines a comprehensive dataset that includes 4027 firms from the United States and Canada over the period from 2010 to 2022 and employs panel ...

Mapping Instrument Preferences for Deforestation Policies Based on EU Public Consultation Data

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, Volume 36, Issue 1, Page 108-134, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Policy makers can choose among many alternative policy instruments to reduce the impact of EU commodity imports on forests and related biodiversity loss in the world. Changes in the instrument mix affect a wide range of stakeholder groups with varying strategic interests and corresponding policy preferences.

High β‐diversity in fig wasp communities driven by species turnover in widely distributed Neotropical fig trees

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 2, February 2026.
Wasp communities associated with fig trees, Ficus spp., are a model system to investigate how local and regional processes shape biodiversity across large geographical ranges. We investigated the β‐diversity of fig wasp assemblages associated with three widely distributed Neotropical fig species – F. citrifolia, F. obtusifolia and F. pertusa – using 27

Trap‐dependence in capture–recapture studies: empirical evidence in vertebrates and biological meaning

open access: yesOikos, Volume 2026, Issue 2, February 2026.
Capture–recapture (CR) models have been used for decades to estimate population size and demographic rates in natural populations from the monitoring of individuals. One of the most frequent deviations from assumptions required in CR studies is the immediate trap‐dependence that corresponds to the correlation between capture events. We review empirical

Behavioural tactics across thermal gradients align with partial morphological divergence in brook charr

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 2, Page 359-376, February 2026.
Our study reveals that brook charr adopt distinct ‘warm’ and ‘cool’ behavioural tactics to balance foraging and thermal stress in stratified lakes. By linking fine‐scale thermal movements to morphology, we show how temperature‐driven habitat use promotes individual specialization and potential ecotypic divergence under climate change.
