Widespread Detection of Amphibian Pathogens in Frog‐Biting Midges (Corethrellidae): Implications for Xenosurveillance

We screened frog‐biting midges (Corethrella spp.) from Central and South America for Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, Ranaviruses, and Trypanosoma spp. using qPCR. Abstract Chondrichthyans are highly vulnerable to fisheries overexploitation, and postcapture mortality poses a significant threat to most species.
