Head gestures recognition

Proceedings 2001 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.01CH37205), 2002
We describe a system that automatically detects and recognizes human head gestures such as nodding and shaking in complex background conditions using a cheap Web camera under uncontrolled conditions. The images of the head, captured at 20 frames per second, are very noisy and are of a low resolution.

Facial Gesture Recognition

2009
From facial gestures, we can extract many kinds of messages in human communication: they represent visible speech signals and clarify whether our current focus of attention is important, funny or unpleasant for us. They are direct, naturally preeminent means for humans to communicate their emotions (Russell and Fernandez-Dols, 1997).

Multimodal gesture recognition

2017
Starting from the famous "Put That There!" demonstration prototype, developed by the Architecture Machine Group at MIT in the late 1970s, the growing potential of multimodal gesture interfaces in natural human-machine communication setups has stimulated people's imagination and motivated significant research efforts in the fields of computer vision ...
