Formation of Laser‐Induced Periodic Surface Structures on Titanium Alloy Using a Picosecond Laser: Dependence on Fluence and Number of Laser Pulses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 6, 16 March 2026.
Laser treatment of materials is a versatile technique for generating ordered surface structures. Nevertheless, such structures are the result of laser parameters such as laser pulse fluence. We demonstrate that homogeneous low special frequency laser‐induced periodic surface structures are contingent on both single and effective fluence dose and can be

Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome Predict Polyneuropathy Over 5 Years in Recent‐Onset Type 2 Diabetes and Normal Glucose Tolerance

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate the impact of obesity and metabolic syndrome (MetS) on distal sensorimotor polyneuropathy (DSPN) over 5 years of recent‐onset type 2 diabetes and normal glucose tolerance (NGT). Materials and Methods Individuals with recent‐onset type 2 diabetes and NGT (n = 355/181) matched for age and sex underwent reference tests of DSPN ...

Natural History of Clinical Phenotypes and Their Biochemical Correlates in Adult X‐Linked Adrenoleukodystrophy

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD) is a rare monogenic disorder characterized by marked variability in clinical presentation, age at onset, and disease progression. A deeper understanding of its natural history and the relationship between biochemical markers and clinical phenotypes is essential for improving disease monitoring, patient ...

Global Functioning and Mental Health Parameters: Examining Interplay and Improvements in Inpatient Psychiatry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Methods in Psychiatric Research, Volume 35, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Global functioning is a common clinician‐rated measure of treatment changes in inpatient psychiatric care, but its broad scope may limit its sensitivity to specific mental health changes. This study aimed to research interplay and improvements of global functioning and several mental health parameters.

Fallschirmspringen, Paragliding und Wingsuit‐Fliegen: Im freien Fall

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 74-78, March 2026.

open access: yesPhysik in unserer Zeit, Volume 57, Issue 2, Page 58-65, March 2026.

Self‐Reported Motives for Immobility or Constraints to Moving: A Review and Assessment of Ten Survey Measures

open access: yesPopulation, Space and Place, Volume 32, Issue 2, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Self‐reported motives for residential immobility are important for understanding why people remain in place, yet existing survey measures vary widely and suffer from a lack of standardisation. We review self‐report measures about motives for immobility or constraints to moving—measured with survey items asking what made it difficult for ...
