Harnessing S. cerevisiae to advance the engineering of pentatricopeptide repeat proteins
Heterologous expression systems have been instrumental in furthering our understanding of plant RNA editing proteins. In this commentary, we discuss how the establishment of yeast as a model for studying plant RNA editing by Ramanathan et al. could advance the engineering of pentatricopeptide repeat proteins, and how in return pentatricopeptide repeat ...

Dissecting hypertonicity‐ and NFAT5‐dependent gene expression programs in mpkCCD cells
Abstract The corticomedullary osmotic gradient between renal cortex and medulla induces a specific spatial gene expression pattern. The factors controlling these differences have not been fully addressed. A hypertonic environment leads to the activation of nuclear factor of activated T‐cells 5 (NFAT5), which regulates the expression of osmoprotective ...

Small-signal stability analysis of energy island type systems considering parallel operation of grid-following and grid-forming converters [PDF]
This paper explores the damping effect of a grid-forming (GFM) converter on the small-signal stability of a grid-following (GFL) converter during weak grid configurations. The paralleled operation of GFL and GFM converters is considered in this work.

Photochemically excited levoglucosenone (LGO) efficiently undergoes Norrish type I reactions yielding particularly functionalized alkenes. In the presence of tertiary amines, this reaction is quenched by an intermolecular electron transfer. This process leads to addition products with high stereoselectivity.
