Static Mechanical Properties of GFRP Laminates with Waste GFRP Interleaf
AbstractA recycle method of GFRP is investigated in this study. Waste GFRP was divided into short glass fibers and resin fragments by milling. However the tensile strength of composites with the chips of waste GFRP is low, the composites are expected that fiber bridging and higher compressive strength than resin.

Impact Behaviour of Sandwich GFRP-Foam-GFRP Composites
The object ive of this study is to investigate the impact behaviors of sandwich structures. These sandwich structures are made of cross -plied E-g lass fibre reinforced plastic (GFRP) co mposite faces with polyurethane foam core. GFRP co mposites are used to combine the upper face and the lower face through the core in stitched sandwich structures ...

Light-weight Optimum Design of Laminate Structures of a GFRP Fishing Vessel [PDF]
Approximately 90,000 ships are registered in South Korea, and about 80,000 of these ships are used in domestic shipping. Among these, 84% are small ships, such as a fishing vessels that weigh less than 20 tons and are made mostly of an FRP (Fiber ...

Damage Monitoring of CP-GFRP/GFRP Composites by Measuring Electrical Resistance [PDF]
Abstract It is necessary to develop new methods to prevent catastrophic failure of structural material in order to avoidaccidents and conserve natural and energy resources. Design of intelligent materials with a self-diagnosing function toprevent fatal fracture of structural materials was achieved by smart composites consisting of carbon fiber tows or ...

Experimental Comparison of the Bearing Capacity of GFRP Beams and 50% Recycled GFRP Beams
This manuscript investigates the possibility of using recycled glass fiber-reinforced polymer for the production of load-bearing elements in construction. Due to the increasing use of GFRP in the world, an increasing amount of waste is generated. The main objective of this research is to expand the use of composite materials in construction and, in ...

Effect of GFRP Stirrup Confinement on the Bond Strength of GFRP-RC Beams
AbstractThe current provisions for development length in the ACI 440.11 code disregard the confinement effect provided by stirrups on the bond strength of longitudinal bars and require splice lengths that pose implementation challenges. Given the significant improvement in GFRP material properties, this study investigated the bond strength of sand ...
