GFRP Bar Reinforced Concrete Bridge Deck: Stress in GFRP Bar under Ultimate Design Loads

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Research, 2011
In current ACI 440.1R-06 design guideline, an environmental reduction factor (ERF) is specified to account for long-term durability of GFRP bar used in reinforced concrete structures. Such ERF factor is still lack of confidence to concrete industry prior to deliberate calibrations with in-field real time data.

A model for the bond-slip of a GFRP bar in concrete

open access: yesEngineering Structures, 2017
Abstract Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars are emerging as desirable alternatives for traditional steel reinforcements in concrete industry. A proper bond between concrete and reinforcement is critical for the performance of reinforced concrete structures.

Behavior of GFRP bar reinforced geopolymer concrete filled GFRP tube columns under different loading conditions

open access: yesStructures, 2021
This paper proposes a new type of column. The glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bar reinforced geopolymer concrete (GPC) filled GFRP tube column is presented as a potential substitute of steel reinforced ordinary Portland cement concrete (OPC) column.
