Massive mimetic cosmology

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
We study the first cosmological implications of the mimetic theory of massive gravity recently proposed by Chamseddine and Mukhanov. This is a novel theory of ghost-free massive gravity which additionally contains a mimetic dark matter component.

Mutual Interferences of a True-Random LiDAR With Other LiDAR Signals

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
We investigate characteristics and impacts of the mutual interference to a LiDAR using an analog true-random signal, for autonomous vehicle applications.

Simultaneous multislice acquisition with multi-contrast segmented EPI for separation of signal contributions in dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We present a method to efficiently separate signal in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into a base signal S0, representing the mainly T1-weighted component without T2*-relaxation, and its T2*-weighted counterpart by the rapid acquisition of multiple ...

Ghost echoes on the Earth–Moon path [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1975
ON July 7, 1974 while using a Moon Bounce technique on 1,296 MHz I observed the appearance of strange, delayed echoes. My equipment consists of a parabolic antenna 26 feet in diameter with a circularly polarised feed horn driven with 500-W continuous wave from a transmitter.

Iconic Celebration of Charms and Friendship in Poetry: Fálétí’s “Adébímpé Ọ̀jẹ́dòkun”

open access: yesYoruba Studies Review, 2021
“Adébímpé Ọ̀jẹ́dòkun” is a heroic poetry with the resemblance of a tragic history. It is a hunter’s dirge, where the griot happens to be a friend to a friend of the fallen hunter.

DeepResp: Deep learning solution for respiration-induced B0 fluctuation artifacts in multi-slice GRE

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2021
Respiration-induced B0 fluctuation corrupts MRI images by inducing phase errors in k-space. A few approaches such as navigator have been proposed to correct for the artifacts at the expense of sequence modification.

Parade of ghosts: buildings & their echoes [PDF]

open access: yesTEXT, 2019
At the centre of this personal essay is my effort to understand the impact of buildings on literature, and the impact of literature on buildings. What happens when the built environment is drastically altered? How does memory mediate between what used to be there and what replaced it?

Lipid elimination with an echo‐shifting N/2‐ghost acquisition (LEENA) MRI [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2014
PurposeThe Dixon techniques provide uniform water‐fat separation but require multiple image sets, which extend the overall acquisition time. Here, an alternative rapid single acquisition method, lipid elimination with an echo‐shifting N/2‐ghost acquisition (LEENA), was introduced.MethodsThe LEENA method utilized a fast imaging with steady‐state free ...

Study of Effect of Raw Data Compression on Azimuth Multi-channel SAR System

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2017
An effective way to achieve High Resolution and Wide Swath (HRWS) imaging capability is the multi-channel technique in azimuth. Improved resolution and swath can dramatically increase the volume of echo data in the SAR system.

Confidence in uncertainty: Error cost and commitment in early speech hypotheses. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Interactions with artificial agents often lack immediacy because agents respond slower than their users expect. Automatic speech recognisers introduce this delay by analysing a user's utterance only after it has been completed.
