S1‐Guideline for diagnosis and therapy of necrobiosis lipoidica

Summary Necrobiosis lipoidica (NL) is a rare granulomatous skin disease of unknown etiology that occurs frequently in association with diabetes mellitus and other comorbidities. The predilection site is the lower leg, particularly the pretibial areas. The exact pathogenesis remains unclear.

Giant basal cell carcinoma of the face

This case report describes a 59-year-old woman with a giant basal cell carcinoma on the face neglected for 11 years. Surgical resection of the lesion resulted in a 13 × 11 cm defect.

Biomolecular Changes Upon Ablative Laser Therapy of the Skin: A Scoping Review

(Fractional) ablative laser therapy results in a wound healing response characterized by an inflammatory phase, dermal matrix degradation, and remodeling, collagenesis and elastogenesis. This is characterized by an increase in metalloproteinases, collagen type I, III, VII, and tropoelastin.

Ameloblastoma is a slow-growing benign neoplasm that has a strong tendency to local invasion and that can grow to be quite large without metastasizing. Rare examples of distant metastasis of an ameloblastoma in lungs or regional lymph nodes do exist.
