Giant magnetoimpedance in the ferromagnetic amorphous alloys

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020
In this work, rapidly quenched amorphous cobalt-based ribbons with a metalloid content of 20% and the finemet type ribbons were investigated in as-quenched state. Their structure, magnetic properties magnetoimpedance (MI) behaviour were discussed in the context of the effective magnetic anisotropy peculiarities depending on the length of the ribbons ...

Giant magnetoimpedance: concepts and recent progress

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2002
The giant magnetoimpedance effect (GMI) consists in drastic changes of the complex impedance of soft magnetic materials upon the application of an external magnetic field. The GMI effect is strongly dependent on the frequency of the applied current and the magnetic anisotropies present in the material, among other factors, which spawn a number of ...

Giant magnetoimpedance and inductance spectroscopy

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2004
A brief review of the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) phenomenon is presented, including the general definition and phenomenology. The change from impedance modulus to complex inductance is presented, which allows a clearer view of the physics involved.

Recent experiments and models on giant magnetoimpedance

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2002
An overview of the giant magnetoimpedance phenomenon is given in this work. The effect, that consists of drastic changes of the complex impedance of soft magnetic materials upon the application of an external magnetic field, has attracted attention owing to the increasing perspectives of applications on magnetic and stress sensor technology.

Giant magnetoimpedance effect in Fe wires

Materials Science and Engineering: B, 2001
In the present work we report, for the first time, the giant magnetoimpedance effect in pure Fe wire with grain size of tens micrometers. The impedance as well as resistance and reactance decrease with application of d.c.

Giant magnetoimpedance in amorphous Co83.2Mn7.6Si5.8B3.3 microwires

Physical Review B, 2000
The magnetoimpedance (MI) of a glass-coated amorphous ${\mathrm{Co}}_{83.2}{\mathrm{Mn}}_{7.6}{\mathrm{Si}}_{5.8}{\mathrm{B}}_{3.3}$ microwire has been studied up to a frequency of 11 MHz and varying a dc magnetic field ${(H}_{\mathrm{dc}})$ within \ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}140 Oe.

Detection of the magnetite by giant magnetoimpedance sensor

Materials Letters, 2015
Abstract Meander-line NiFe/Cu/NiFe films-based giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensor was employed to detect raw magnetite aiming to develop a sensitive magnetometer for the exploration of magnetite. The GMI effect was greatly decreased after placing the magnetite on the GMI sensing elements, which was probably related to the transverse magnetization ...

Routes for optimization of giant magnetoimpedance effect in magnetic microwires

IEEE Instrumentation & Measurement Magazine, 2020
The objective of this report is to present the route of development of magnetically soft thin wires for applications in magnetic sensors. We present our experimental study of the Giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect of magnetic microwires prepared using the Taylor-Ulitovsky technique.

Giant Magnetoimpedance for Biosensing in Drug Delivery

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
Iron oxide (Fe3O4) non‐specific superparamagnetic nanoparticles of 30 nm size are introduced into human embryonic kidney (HEK‐293) cells by intracellular uptake. The nanoparticles are magnetised by two superimposed magnetic fields, an externally applied DC field and an AC field generated by the high‐frequency current flowing through Co64.5Fe2 ...

Giant magnetoimpedance in FeAg granular alloys

Applied Physics Letters, 2002
We have observed giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) in an FeAg granular alloy. Impedance and transverse susceptibility (TS) measurements as a function of the external dc magnetic field were made at room temperature. The variation of the magnetoimpedance ratio with magnetic field has been related to a corresponding TS ratio change as a function of the ...
