Investigating the radio emission in the Perseus cluster with LOFAR sub-80 MHz LBA observations
The Perseus cluster is a nearby cool-core galaxy cluster that hosts an archetypal radio mini-halo. Recent Low Frequency Array (LOFAR) High Band Antenna (HBA) observations at 120 − 168 MHz have revealed the presence of a giant radio halo within the ...

ABSTRACT Humanity seems stuck on different ways to fail to meet the challenge posed by a declared climate emergency and manifest problems of ecological breakdown. Rather than reprise these failures, we use the Fermi Paradox and simulation hypothesis to make a simple point about agency. The argument unfolds in two sections.

Tools for Learning—Promoting Reflection for Student Teachers' Development of PCK
ABSTRACT This paper investigates how the coherent integration of three different tools for reflection during a science methods course can contribute to student teachers' planning and enactment of science teaching, that is, their development of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK).

A Parsec‐Scale Accelerating Radio Jet in the Giant Radio Galaxy NGC 315
Observations of the core of the giant radio galaxy NGC315 made with VLBI interferometers are discussed in the context of a relativistic jet. The sidedness asymmetry suggests Doppler favoritism from a relativistic jet. The presence of moving features in the jet as well as jet counter--jet brightness ratios hint at an accelerating, relativistic jet.

Blast: the far-infrared/radio correlation in distant galaxies [PDF]
We investigate the correlation between far-infrared (FIR) and radio luminosities in distant galaxies, a lynchpin of modern astronomy. We use data from the Balloon-borne Large Aperture Submillimetre Telescope (BLAST), Spitzer, the Large Apex BOlometer ...

A Catalog of Giant Radio Source Candidates from TGSS ADR1 Using a Deep Learning–based Pipeline
We present a catalog of 5595 giant radio source (GRS) candidates, defined by a largest (projected) linear size (LLS) exceeding 0.7 Mpc. Of these, 4566 would be new discoveries if confirmed.
