Optical Surface Roughness Estimation Using Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 76, Issue 1, Page 188-196, January 2025.
An artificial intelligence (AI) model has been developed using a data set recorded by a laser triangulation scanner and a digital camera. This model is capable of identifying whether blasted steel surfaces are good or bad, and it can also estimate the roughness of these surfaces in the form of the Rz parameter, based on images alone.

Low-cost gigapixel microscopy

open access: yes, 2019
We report a Fourier ptychography reconstruction that enabled the use of low-cost Bayer-filtered color cameras. Using 3D-printing, consumer electronics and robust calibration we demonstrated a microscope capable of capturing sub-micron resolution 25-megapixel images under $150.

Enhancing multimodal survival prediction: tri-modal learning with clinical knowledge integration via state space models

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
Accurate survival prediction is crucial for precision oncology, yet it faces challenges due to the neglect of clinical priors and high computational complexity. We propose TriBind-Mamba, a tri-modal framework integrating Clinical Knowledge Prompting (CKP)

DynamicTrack: Advancing Gigapixel Tracking in Crowded Scenes

open access: yes2024 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME)
Tracking in gigapixel scenarios holds numerous potential applications in video surveillance and pedestrian analysis. Existing algorithms attempt to perform tracking in crowded scenes by utilizing multiple cameras or group relationships. However, their performance significantly degrades when confronted with complex interaction and occlusion inherent in ...
