High-throughput high-dynamic range imaging by spatiotemporally structured illumination [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2022
Recent advances in biochemistry and optics have enabled observation of the faintest signals from even single molecules. However, although biological samples can have varying degrees of fluorescence expression ranging from a single to thousands of ...

Extended Field Laser Confocal Microscopy (EFLCM): Combining automated Gigapixel image capture with in silico virtual microscopy

open access: yesBMC Medical Imaging, 2008
Background Confocal laser scanning microscopy has revolutionized cell biology. However, the technique has major limitations in speed and sensitivity due to the fact that a single laser beam scans the sample, allowing only a few microseconds signal ...

Documenting Paintings with Gigapixel Photography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Digital photographic capture of pictorial artworks with gigapixel resolution (around 1000 megapixels or greater) is a novel technique that is beginning to be used by some important international museums as a means of documentation, analysis, and ...

Fast Mass Microscopy: Mass Spectrometry Imaging of a Gigapixel Image in 34 Minutes

open access: yes, 2022
[Image: see text] Mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) maps the spatial distributions of chemicals on surfaces. MSI requires improvements in throughput and spatial resolution, and often one is compromised for the other. In microprobe-mode MSI, improvements in

Efficient image reconstruction for gigapixel quantum image sensors [PDF]

open access: yes2014 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP), 2014
Recent advances in materials, devices and fabrication technologies have motivated a strong momentum in developing solid-state sensors that can detect individual photons in space and time. It has been envisioned that such sensors can eventually achieve very high spatial resolutions (e.g., 109 pixels/chip) as well as high frame rates (e.g., 106 frames ...

Capturing and viewing gigapixel images [PDF]

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics, 2007
We present a system to capture and view "Gigapixel images": very high resolution, high dynamic range, and wide angle imagery consisting of several billion pixels each. A specialized camera mount, in combination with an automated pipeline for alignment, exposure compensation, and stitching, provide the means to acquire Gigapixel images with a standard ...

Noble Metals Doping in Lead-Free Double Perovskite Single Crystals: Achieving Near-Infrared to X-ray Broadband Photodetection. [PDF]

open access: yesSmall Sci
This study examines the doping of Cs2AgBiBr6 double perovskite with noble metals (Au3+, Pd2+, and Ir3+). Significant redshifts in the absorption edge enable broadband photodetection from X‐rays to NIR, without abrupt changes in crystal structure. Au doping notably also enhances X‐ray sensitivity.

Service-based Processing of Gigapixel Images

open access: yesCSRN, 2021
With the ongoing improvement of digital cameras and smartphones, more and more people can acquire high-resolution digital images. Due to their size and high performance requirements, such Gigapixel Images (GPIs) areoften challenging to process and explore compared to conventional low resolution images.
