Soil Phosphorus and pH Influence the Growth of Mycorrhizal Sweetgum [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The response of sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua L.) seedlings grown either without or inoculated with the vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal (VAM) fungus Gigaspora margarita‘Becker’ and ‘Hall’ to 25, 50, and 100 ppm soil phosphorus (P) and adjusted soil ...

Ceratocystis fimbriata alters root system architecture and causes symptom development only in detached storage roots in Bayou Belle and Beauregard sweet potato

open access: yesPlant Pathology, Volume 73, Issue 3, Page 644-656, April 2024.
Ceratocystis fimbriata affected root system architecture of sweet potato even though it did not cause symptoms and was not isolated from roots until swollen storage roots were detached from the plant. Abstract Little is known about how the sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) root system responds to Ceratocystis fimbriata in the growth substrate ...

Variability in growth, nutrition and phytochemical constituents of Plectranthus amboinicus (Lour) Spreng. as influenced by indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi [PDF]

open access: yesMaejo International Journal of Science and Technology, 2008
A study was conducted under greenhouse nursery condition on the efficacy of seven indigenous arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi in the improvement of growth, biomass, nutrition and phytochemical constituents, namely total phenols, ortho dihydroxy phenols,

Protein Patterns in Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Roots and Non-Mycorrhizal Roots of Oil Palm Seedling

open access: yesMicrobiology Indonesia, 2010
A comparison of the protein patterns in root extracts from none mycorrhizal and mycorrhizal oil palm roots has been made. The polypeptides were analyzed every three weeks up to 11 weeks.

Nonbinary fungal signals and calcium‐mediated transduction in plant immunity and symbiosis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 241, Issue 4, Page 1393-1400, February 2024.
Summary Chitin oligomers (COs) are among the most common and active fungal elicitors of plant responses. Short‐chain COs from symbiotic arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi activate accommodation responses in the host root, while long‐chain COs from pathogenic fungi are acknowledged to trigger defence responses.

FUNGOS MICORRÍZICOS ARBUSCULARES E ADUBAÇÃO FOSFATADA NA PRODUÇÃO DE MUDAS DE PARICÁ

open access: yesCiência Florestal, 2017
The recovery of degraded ecosystems demands research with native species that can support forest restoration programs. The production of seedlings with native tree species in association with soil microorganisms is an important technique for the ...

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR): Reports on Their Colonization, Beneficial Activities, and Use as Bioinoculant

open access: yesAdvances in Agriculture, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Recurring use of chemical fertilizers (CFs) in agriculture has resulted the remarkable improvement in crop productivity but their ruinous effects on environment have made a serious issue. Biological entities (e.g., several microorganisms) showing fertilizer‐like activities have gained attention in this regard.
