Soil Biology and Biochemistry, 1995Abstract Nineteen field isolates of actinomycetes and Streptomyces orientalis were evaluated for their production of volatile compounds that stimulate spore germination of Gigaspora margarita , an arbuscular mycorrhizal fungus. Some actinomycetes enhanced spore germination, whereas others did not.

Mycorrhiza, 1995The effect of root exudates from onions differing in P status on spore germination and hyphal growth of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi was investigated.
