Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.This study assessed habitat preferences, suitability, and illegal trade routes of the endangered Indian pangolin in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Using field surveys and MaxEnt modeling, we identified fragmented habitats with only 22% classified as highly suitable, alongside key poaching and trafficking pathways.
