1996It is thought that this distressing condition may be much under-diagnosed due to a variety of factors such as the varying severity of the disease, time of onset and social disability caused. Research has put the occurrence of the condition as high as between one in 2000 and one in 3000 for boys and between one in 5000 and one in 10 000 for girls.
