Aspects of the Gimbal Suspension of Gyroscopes

1963
This paper is concerned with the effects of motion of the supporting member, including angular vibration, on a) a gimbal-supported platform, b) a two-axis gyroscope and c) a single-axis gyroscope, and with the effects of flexibility of the rotor-shaft on the vibration of a singleaxis rate gyroscope.

On Mechanics of Gyroscopes in Gimbal Suspension

1978
In oscillatory motion, nutation, of a slowly rotating demonstrational gyroscope in a gimbal suspension it is easy to notice that after each full oscillation cycle the internal ring returns to where it was as the external ring rotates at a certain angle relative to the initial position.

The Motion of a Gyroscope Mounted in Gimbals

2000
Equations of motion of an astatic gyroscope mounted in gimbals in presence of a viscous friction in the gimbals axes have the form [33] $$\left[ {{A_2} + (A + {A_1}){{\cos }^2}\beta + {C_1}} \right]\frac{{{d^2}\alpha }}{{d{T^2}}} + ({C_1} - A - {A_1})\sin (2\beta )\frac{{d\alpha }}{{dT}}\frac{{d\beta }}{{dT}} + H\cos \beta \frac{{d\beta }}{{dT}} + {
