Single Axis Piezoceramic Gimbal [PDF]
This paper describes the fabrication, testing, and analysis of a single axis piezoceramic gimbal. The fabrication process consists of pre-stressing a piezoceramic wafer using a high-temperature thermoplastic polyimide and a metal foil. The differential thermal expansion between the ceramic and metal induces a curvature.

We investigated the internal joint distances (IJDs) of the humero‐ulnar and humero‐radial joint, within a sample of 15 small‐ to medium‐sized mammals and report isometric results. We also found that joint poses had no effect on IJDs and that IJDs scale isometrically within small species.

Ultra high resolution stepper motors design, development, performance and application [PDF]
The design and development of stepper motors with steps in the 10 arc sec to 2 arc min range is described. Some of the problem areas, e.g. rotor suspension, tribology aspects and environmental conditions are covered.

A numerical investigation using 3D RANS simulations demonstrates significant effects of protuberance geometry—cubic, cylindrical, spherical, and conical—on shock‐induced thrust vectoring in supersonic nozzles. Cubic protuberances provide the maximum jet deflection (˜2°) with negligible thrust reduction.
