Naphthalimide Derivatives as Film‐Based Fluorescent Sensors for Rapid Detection of Illicit Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Four novel 1,8‐naphthalimide (NI) derivatives for the detection of illicit drugs with different substituents at the 4‐position are reported. Their contrasting fluorescence responses enables five illicit drugs to be distinguished from interferents with a mean classification accuracy of 81%.

Diagnostic value of the gingival cytogram in school-age children suffering from chronic gastritis and duodenitis

open access: yesMedičnì Perspektivi
In recent years, there has been an increase in the incidence of morbidity associated with digestive organ pathology in the pediatric population. The oral cavity is the digestive tract opening, sharing a common ectodermal origin with it.

Detection of human papillomavirus DNA sequences in oral lesions using polymerase chain reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The purpose of the present study was to estimate the frequency of HPV DNA in four groups of oral lesions, including oral squamous cell carcinoma. Sixty paraffin-embedded oral tissue samples were examined for the presence of HPV DNAs using the PCR ...

A 3D Printing Strategy for Hard Curved Surfaced Circuits: From Materials to Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional PCB etching (multi‐step) and indirect transfer techniques fail to meet structural electronics’ demands for lightweight, miniaturized, and customized manufacturing. 3D‐printed conformal circuits enable direct integration of conductive traces into substrates or onto surfaces, achieving integrated structural‐functional fabrication.

Nitric oxide in gingival crevicular fluid and nitric oxide synthase expression in the gingiva of patients with sickle cell disease

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Hematology, 2011
Objective: This study aimed to biochemically measure the production of nitric oxide in gingival crevicular fluid and immunohistochemically measure the expression of inducible nitric oxide synthase in the gingiva of patients with sickle cell disease ...

Sleep Deprivation Aggravates Periodontitis Through Trigeminal‐Periodontal Neuroimmune Pathway Mediated by the AChE‐ACh‐α7nAChR Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep deprivation (SD) exacerbates ligature‐induced periodontitis (LIP) through the trigeminal nerve‐periodontal neuroimmune pathway mediated by the acetylcholinesterase (AChE)‐acetylcholine (ACh)‐α7 nicotinic receptor (α7nAChR) axis. While electroacupuncture (EA) alleviates the condition of LIP combined with SD by activating the α7nAChR.

Long Term High‐Salt Diet Induces Cognitive Impairments via Down‐Regulating SHANK1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study identifies a novel mechanistic link between long‐term HS diet and cognitive impairment, wherein PKA/CREB axis inactivation leads to SHANK1 reduction, synaptic damage, and cognitive deficits. Abstract High‐salt (HS) diet is an established risk factor for cognitive impairment, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
